Congratulations to our very own Helen Burnham! Helen has been named recipient in the Addiction Category for the 2009 Courage to Come Back Awards.

Helen co-founded Avalon in 1990 with friend Virginia Giles. Both recovering alcoholics, they saw the need for women to have a safe, welcoming place to hold twelve-step meetings, to meet other women with similar problems and to begin their individual journeys of recovery. For Helen's story...

The Centres off over one hundred 12-step meetings each month, including:

• Alcoholics Anonymous (daily meeting with childcare for weekday meetings)
